Rome is the capital of italian republic, and the main town of Lazio region. It has more than 2.700.000 inhabitants distributed on a surface of 1.285 km², is the most populous and widest commune of Italy. Rome is the centre of Vatican city, the hearth of catholic Cristianity. The city centre is rich of storic testimony (about 2.800 years of story) and it has been included in the UNESCO list and the city is one of the most important in the turism sector.

Rome rises up on Tevere river banks. The city and storical centre is formed by famous seven hills: Palatino, Aventino, Campidoglio, Quirinale, Viminale, Esquilino and Celio. The city is crossed even by an other river, Aniene. In Rome there are not only the seven historical hills but other several: Mario Mountain, Gianicolo, Pincio, Parioli mounts, sacred mount and Monteverde.
